What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment

Entertaiment is an activity that holds the attention and interest of the audience or gives pleasure and delight. It can be an idea or a task, but it is more likely to be one of the activities that have developed over thousands of years specifically for the purpose of keeping an audience’s attention. It also tends to be something that hits on the points that our brains were evolved to react deeply to – backstabbing, murder and other social themes that are important for us to understand in order to function in a social world.

Something affording pleasure, diversion, or amusement: Solving the daily crossword is an entertainment for many people. The word derives from the medieval Latin inter tenere, combining the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere, based on the Indo-European root ten, meaning to stretch out or hold.
