What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is a powerful and complex force that has morphed into an industrialized industry that dominates many sectors of the world. It can bring joy and stimulate learning, but it can also have negative impacts if not properly regulated. It has become a force that can create new forms and structures, and it has the potential to transform itself into something completely different. The word “entertainment” comes from the Latin intertenere, meaning “to hold inside.” The Indo-European root ten means to stretch, which is appropriate because entertainment has the potential to be stretched in many ways.
