Entertaiment
The art or skill of entertaining, or the capacity to entertain. Entertainment can be as simple as a meal for two; a performance or celebration adapted to an audience of thousands. It is often thought that entertainment has to do with fun and humour, and indeed many forms of entertainment are intended for this purpose, but other forms serve serious purposes, such as ceremony, religious festival, political propaganda or social commentary, satire etc. The word derives from the medieval Latin inter tenere, meaning “to hold inside,” with the Indo-European root ten, which means to stretch or lengthen.
